In a sentence it is the ability to move a joint through its full range, pain free. Now ask yourself this, do you struggle to squat properly or pain free? Have you stopped to consider a) why this is and b) what it stops you doing?
What is the best way to prevent lower back pain you may ask. To answer simply, it is getting the pelvis and hips to movethe way they are supposed to, through a full range, whilst ensuring the soft tissue (muscles) are flexible and strong enough to do so.
The same applies, in large, to other joints and movements: Shoulder or wrist pain with press ups. Knee pain with lunges.
